• Perfect for Beginners – No Experience Needed!

Each week, students will be guided through a step-by-step graphite drawing, with fresh and exciting subjects changing from week to week.

The focus? Learning how to capture depth, shading, and realism using nothing but graphite pencils—and a little creative confidence!

These teen classes are designed to be fun, approachable, and totally doable, even for beginners.
🎨 No colour, no pressure—just pure graphite magic.

Life happens—and that’s okay! If your teen misses a session, a recording can be provided so they can catch up anytime and stay on track with their artwork.

Students are responsible for bringing their own materials to each session. Having the right tools will help them get the most out of every class!

Here’s what they’ll need:

• ✏️ Graphite Pencils: 4H, 2H, 2B, 4B, and soft charcoal
• 🌫️ Blending Stumps: Small, medium, and large sizes
• 🧼 Eraser
• ✏️ Sharpener
• 📄 Sketching Paper: 100 lb drawing/sketch pad
• 💻 Electronic Device (Choose one): Chromebook, iPhone, or iPad  Google Meet app must be downloaded and ready to use
  
   

🖌️ These materials support the techniques we’ll be learning—especially shading, texture, and creating realistic depth with graphite.

The device is used so students can watch the lesson in real time. As the teacher, I use a webcam that is positioned above my drawing surface, allowing students to clearly see how I render with pencil crayon and how I build colour step by step. I colour along with them throughout the class.

Students will join a secure Google link where they can view this live feed, making it much easier for them to follow along and understand each technique as it’s demonstrated.

The live view gives them a close-up perspective of my drawing as I demonstrate techniques in real time, which can be difficult to see from a distance. This way, they can better understand how I build colour, layer pencil crayon, and refine details step by step while working alongside me.

It really helps support different learning styles and ensures everyone can follow along comfortably.

Join us every Thursday from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM for a creative hour of drawing and technique!

Both In-Person and Online formats run at the same time, so you can choose the experience that works best for you.

Our In-Studio Classes take place in Kanata, in a welcoming and inspiring space for young artists to create!
